The weather has been cold, wet, rainy, sunny, windy, humid, cloudy, dry, dusty, and everything in between. Finding time to open the hives has been tricky, but I managed to pop the lids open on the two scout hives at the Harvard yard on Thursday afternoon. They are both doing well. I saw one queen and both hives show signs of healthy brood-rearing. I replenished the sugar water in the in-hive feeders. Both hives are ready for a second deep brood chamber. Most of the scouts will be backpacking at Diamond Fork this weekend but others will be in town and we will meet on Saturday or Sunday to work on the hives.
